Emma Coller, 29 and Mother of three
Works part time in Mothercare and is studying for a BA in childhood and health studies via open University
´´I put on a lot of weight during my pregnancies increasing to a size 22 at my heaviest. I gave up smoking when I first became pregnant and I over-compensated by gorging on crisps and bread. Three caesarean sections left my stomach flabby and prone to weight gain and I felt out of control of my eating habits and lacked motivation.
Being a single mum was hard, stressful and lonely so I would often turn to food for comfort My main problem area was my stomach! I was totally unaware of how big my food portions actually were and overloaded on carbs at meal times and unhealthy snacks throughout the day. I felt it was so hard to keep weight off, the many diets I tried didn´t work and left me feeling hungry and weak.
My motivation for losing weight was hearing friends refer to me as ´Big Emma´. I was mortified I tried to lose weight by introducing exercise which did improved my energy levels, however my appetite would always let me down and I found it hard to cut down on portion sizes as less food just left me feeling hungry.
I was contacted by Appesat and have been taking three capsules before a meal for about five months now.
I´ve found taking it has helped me reduce my portion sizes as I don´t get as hungry when preparing meals. I´ve also made a real effort to cut out most snacks, again taking Appesat has really helped me here as I don´t get hunger pangs mid morning and mid afternoon.
Generally I find it a lot easier to eat less and it has got easier as the weeks have gone by. If I´m ever tempted to snack, as a reminder I pull out the cardigan I used to have to squeeze into when I was a size 22; I can now wear it wrapped right around me! I´m now a size 16 and have lost 3 ½ stone in total. I now feel confident that I will be able to reach my goal of fitting into a size 12 by the summer. ´´

Now: Size 10/12

Barbara Brett, 57
Civil Servant, Northampton´´At my heaviest I weighed over 13 stone. I´ve always had a problem with my weight and was heavy as a child. I lost control of my weight and it crept up and up gradually over the years. The key factors for my weight increase were; giving up smoking, the pressure of a new position at work, separating from my husband and the onset of the menopause. I never felt encouraged or supported by the male figures in my life which demotivated me even more and led to me comfort eating.
Being a size 20 really affected my confidence and was the benchmark I was not willing to go over. In the past, I´d tried dieting many times but it is the easiest thing in the world to ´fall off the wagon´ and go back to bad eating habits. I´ve tried all the fad diets, some of which worked initially but left me starving, and as soon as I started eating properly again the weight just piled back on.
This time, I wanted to lose weight for me and regain control of my life. I have lost nearly four stone through a balanced diet and with the aid of Appesat which I have been trialling for the last few months. Most importantly it has helped me to get my life back and keep the weight off and maintain my size 10 figure Now I don´t ever get the urge to binge out on naughty foods, and find it much easier to keep my portion sizes down.
People say I look like a different person. My brother commented that he wouldn´t recognise me in the street now that I have lost weight! Since losing the weight my personality has changed, I am much more confident and upbeat and look years younger than 57.´´
